CanSkate, PrePower and CanPower

The Amherst Skating Club has developed guidelines for Canskate, PrePower and CanPower programing.
Please review and adhere to the protocols listed below.

Arriving
• Please have your child use the washroom before arriving
• Skaters must arrive “Ice Ready
• “Ice Ready” means all equipment, skates, helmets etc. must be on upon entering the
facility. Your skater will only have to remove their guards once they are rink side (help
will be provided at ice entrance). – please remember to label your skaters guards – they
must stay with the skater until the end of the session
CanPower participants must come ice ready as well with all equipment on including
skates unless they are able to tie their own skates as parents are not permitted in
the alleyways.
• Guards can be purchased at the Bike Shop or Canadian Tire

Spectators
• Spectators are permitted in the seating area of the Stadium but not permitted in the
alleyways or entrance and exit doors of the ice.
On Ice
• Participants must be independent from parents.
• No water bottles permitted on the ice
Pre-Power require skates and helmets only (no sticks please)
CanPower require skates, helmets, gloves and stick.

Exiting
• Parents are not permitted in the alleys to wait for their child.
• Skaters will be escorted off of the ice and to the front of the Stadium with their skates and
guards on.

If you have any questions or concerns or need further clarification, please feel free to
reach out. We have volunteers willing to assist and direct you as needed. We would like
to thank you in advance for doing your part in following the guidelines.
